The First Light Of Dawn
A whole world inside a tiny droplet
upside down, helpless and vulnerable
waiting for the one glimmer of light
to turn it into a shining jewel
A reckless breath, a careless shift
ready to destroy its fragile beauty
A sea of crystallized leaves and branches
waiting to be woken from nonexistence
The muted forest sighs drowsily
and sheds its shimmering disguise
as the first demure beams of the sun
ignite it into a carnival of golden glow
Earth is standing still, holding its breath
for this dying, ageless moment
It is leisurely unfolding, awakening
under an opaque blanket of fading mist
sleepily still holding on to the velvety duvet
unwilling to wake up from under its fleeting kiss
